Product Description
We are a family-operated business located in the western mountains of Maine. Using a Lane saw # 47 built in Montpelier, Vermont and patented in 1898. It produces shingles with a full 3/8" butt to easily match those made in the early 1900’s. The wood we use is locally harvested eastern white cedar. This patch kit covers over 14 feet of running length, or enough to patch a 3' x 2' section with 5" exposure. Shingles are longer than 15", designed for triple coverage as in old-style construction methods. The exposure area is clear and free of knots. Some knots or blemishes may appear above the exposure area. Top side has a smooth cut finish, back side a bit rougher, for you to choose to match your existing shingles. Our shingles have been resquared and rebutted, meaning they have straight sides and smoother bottom for quick installation and a professional appearance. We also sell a "Knotty Style" with random solid knots in the exposure area, so you can choose the style that matches your existing shingles.
